I'm going to be pretty honest here. Sandstorm is the very first failure that NWI delivered to me, personally...To be frank, the game is alright. I like how they've advanced: decided to move the game - more specifically, RELOAD it - on a different engine. They've added a lot of interesting features that were present in the original Insurgency and their WWII-themed game Day of Infamy. They've added a nice feature for the player's ability to customise their character with lots of cosmetics, try out new weapons and let everyone enjoy the opportunity to upgrade the weapons to the brim. They did a nice job on adding light vehicles, like the pickup truck with a mounted machine gun behind it. But for me, really, Unreal Engine 4 is an autistic engine that NWI decided to take on to try and make the game look all well and improved with all those features present. But, they actually failed. They tried hard. I respect them for that, somehow. The game is horribly optimised: every new, but slow update doesn't bring me anything but pain and suffering while trying to launch at least one round, which, ironically, always gets stuck on the loading screen with only the main menu's music playing in the background, frozen to hell. When I actually managed to somehow launch the game and finally got to play it (before and after the official release), the experience was far from being enjoyable: bots that were missing their playermodels; floating weapons, equipment, hands and heads that look ridiculous while trying hard at life to connect to the missing body parts; unbelievable amounts of lag and FPS drops; horrible map terrain and texture loading; OP bots that still haven't been balanced; infinite loading screens with a frozen state; everything is just so wrong with this game.I don't blame NWI, no. They're a great development team that decided to try out something new. I supported them on two of my accounts, buying Insurgency and Day of Infamy copies. What I specifically blame is their bad - I'm dead serious, it's a VERY BAD - decision of reloading the game and giving it a better look (which is where I think they were aiming more for the look of the game, not it's inner self: mechanics, more interesting features etc.) on the Unreal 4 Engine, which is - with all haste - a horrible looking sculpture covered in muck and vomit. It's difficult, it's not flexible to make it work on old PCs, toasters and potatoes. Looking at Titanfall developers, these guys juiced out the Source Engine and made the game look like it wasn't even made on the Source Engine. Why didn't NWI do the same thing? I don't know, they've been aiming for the game to be better and different, and that was their own ticket to a dead-end disappointment from some community fans, including me.I'm not satisfied. I'm more than disappointed in NWI's decision. I'm disappointed that they didn't use the money to re-create the game again on the Source Engine with all those sick, good-looking features, or at least update the original game massively. Literally, MASSIVELY update the original game, rig it with everything that they added in Sandstorm. I'm not changing my mind. This game is a serious blow to me and the sharpest spear with the worst pain to be delivered right into my heart.Try harder next time, NWI. I still love you.. i wish the character customization let u make the insurgents barefoot i bet they got sexy feet. Needs 10 round stripper clipped SKS as base.. Argh! I want to give this game a positive review, i really do, but in its current state i just can't. The game itself has some really nice mechanics, the sound is phenomenal, the gun play feels really nice......but.....but, its just not in a finished state. After 350+ hours playing i'm growing tired of huge frame drops, stuttering across most maps, a non functioning 'party system', co-op AI that just isn't intelligent (killed close range by a Moisin, and killed at long range by a Browning HP).The devs (I know they are a small team) keep promising updates, but each one fixes a few bugs, but creates more. I'll edit my review after the next patch\/update, but for now I'd stay away from this game.CPU: Ryzen 7 2700XGPU: Vega 64 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GBRAM: 16GB @3000mhzSSD: 500 GB
